THE FORGOTTEN ROLE: WOMEN AND THE CHURCH
PREAMBLE:
Religious disdain for women analyzed. Exposition of their vital role and
historical marginalization by Christianity. The marvel of life-giving. Struggle
for recognition and justice.
The Disdain of the Church Fathers
The
analysis of the role of women in Christianity reveals a history of
marginalization, disqualification, and underestimation, despite their vital
contribution to human life. This and subsequent studies examine the historical
treatment and negative perceptions of women by ecclesiastical leaders and the
ongoing struggle for recognition of their superiority and to expose the
injustice committed against them.
Historical Perspective of the Church Fathers
Historically,
many Church leaders expressed derogatory, contemptuous, and offensive opinions
toward women. This phenomenon is particularly paradoxical, considering that
these leaders were brought into this world, raised, and supported by women.
This contradiction raises questions about the influence of these perceptions on
the structure and doctrines of the Church.
The Process of Life-Giving
Women
play a fundamental role in the creation and development of human beings, as
they are the only ones who nurture the fetus for nine months until its complete
formation, giving birth with pain, not because of what is written in books, but
because the nature of their skeletal structure prescribes it. The newborn
receives its first contact with life in the arms of a woman, who breastfeeds
and cares for it with dedication and much love, providing protection and
managing its dependence as it awakens to life. In adulthood, women participate
in their struggles, triumphs, defeats, joys, and sorrows, with the dawn and
dusk of human beings being carried by the hand of a woman. This natural process
cannot be replaced or equaled by men. However, ecclesiastical leaders, when
pronouncing their diatribes, did not consider that they too had been part of
this natural process exercised by women, ignoring the marvelous process of
life-giving.
Marginalization in Christianity
Despite
their crucial role, women have been relegated to the background in many aspects
and traditions. This marginalization has been perpetuated by a clerical
structure that prioritizes men, ignoring the unique and irreplaceable
importance and contribution of women, against whom hatred has been promoted.
Woman as Victim and Culprit
Demonstrating
the undeniable superiority of women and correcting the historical narrative
that victimizes them is a titanic task that requires a deep and multifaceted
examination of ecclesiastical history, including the actions and attitudes of
religious leaders, as well as the social and political impact of these
institutions. However, with the cooperation of all women, it will be possible
to demonstrate that they were created for a sublime purpose, and that this role
was taken from them in the most vile manner by religions that conspired to
obscure and minimize them.
Exploring the Plot of Religious Disdain
To
penetrate and understand the complexity of the fabric woven by Church leaders
to structure, disseminate, and maintain misogyny for so long, it is necessary
to explore different facets and actions of these organizations' history. This
includes the control exerted over governments and societies, the methods used
to expand and perpetuate themselves; without deviating from the central theme.
It cannot be ignored that under the arbitration of Christianity, in the past
and even partially in the present, sacred and profane matters have moved,
public and private affairs have been managed, publications have been
controlled, free expression of thought has been muzzled, and morality has been
defined based on what they call sin. Even Artificial Intelligence in this
modern age is visibly and regrettably biased toward Christianity, all of which
indicates the iron structure that characterizes that Church. Therefore, it is
necessary to delve into all aspects of that monolithic organization to achieve
the objectives proposed in this blog.
FINAL REFLECTION
The study of the history of Christianity and its negative treatment of women is fundamental to understanding the struggle for their recognition. Through critical and objective analysis, we can move toward a fairer and more balanced understanding of the superiority of women in society and history. If women come to power, the world will enjoy the lost peace.
